President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of two members of the Kano State House of Assembly, Aminu Saad Ungogo and Aliyu Sarki Daneji, who died in separate incidents on Wednesday.
Ungogo represented the Ungogo constituency, while Daneji served the Kano Municipal constituency. Both lawmakers reportedly passed away within an hour of each other, a development the President described as sad, tragic and deeply painful.
In a condolence message, President Tinubu said the demise of the two legislators has created a significant vacuum, noting that their deaths have deprived their constituencies of dedicated and committed representation.
“I offer my heartfelt condolences to their families and constituents, as well as the government and people of Kano State,” the President said.
He also sympathised with the leadership and members of the Kano State House of Assembly over the loss of their colleagues, describing the late lawmakers as respected members of the legislative body.
President Tinubu prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the deceased legislators and asked God to grant comfort and strength to their families, colleagues and all those affected by the loss.
