Tinubu Sends 32 Ambassador-Designate Nominees to Senate for Confirmation

President Bola Tinubu has forwarded a list of 32 ambassador-designate nominees to the Senate for screening and confirmation as Nigeria prepares a new round of diplomatic postings.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Saturday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
The nominees include 17 non-career diplomats and 15 career officers who are expected to represent Nigeria in major countries and international organisations.

Erelu Bisi Angela Adebayo (Ekiti) – Former Ekiti First Lady

Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) – Former Governor of Enugu State

Tasiu Musa Maigari (Katsina) – Former Speaker, Katsina House of Assembly

Yakubu N. Gambo (Plateau) – Former Commissioner; ex-Deputy Executive Secretary, UBEC

Prof. Nora Ladi Daduut (Plateau) – Former Senator

Otunba Femi Pedro (Lagos) – Former Deputy Governor of Lagos State

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode (Osun) – Former Aviation Minister

Barr. Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu (Anambra) – Legal practitioner

Fatima Florence Ajimobi (Oyo) – Former First Lady of Oyo State

Lola Akande (Lagos) – Former Lagos Commissioner

Grace Bent (Adamawa) – Former Senator

The nominees will be posted to important diplomatic missions across China, India, South Korea, Canada, Mexico, the UAE, Qatar, South Africa, Kenya, and other key countries.
Others will represent Nigeria in leading international organisations, including the United Nations, UNESCO, and the African Union.

Their final postings will be announced after the Senate completes the confirmation process.
