You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet”: Soludo Hails Ndi Anambra for Renewed Mandate After Re-election

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has extended heartfelt appreciation to the people of Anambra State following his re-election, describing the renewed mandate as both a victory and a historic milestone for the state.

Speaking on Sunday after being declared winner of the governorship election, Soludo secured a second term in office alongside his deputy, Dr. Onyeka Ibezim.

Addressing jubilant supporters, the governor said the people of Anambra had sent a powerful message of trust and confidence in his leadership. He reflected on his first election victory in 2021, which came amid low voter turnout, but noted that this year’s polls recorded a remarkable improvement in civic participation.

“Four years ago, you gave us your mandate. That was the first time Anambra used BVAS, and the turnout was quite low—you elected us with 112,000 votes,” Soludo said. “This time, you have spoken loudly. About 22 percent of registered voters participated in this election—breaking the 20 percent ceiling for the first time in our history.”

The governor emphasized that his re-election was a landmark in the state’s political journey, noting that since 1999, only three governors have ever been returned for a second term. According to him, the scale of support in this election stands as the most decisive yet.

“In 2010, a governor was re-elected with around 31 percent of the votes. In 2017, another won with 56 percent. This time, you re-elected us with 73 percent of the votes. I am deeply humbled by your overwhelming support and solidarity,” he added.

Soludo assured residents that his administration remains committed to accelerating development across all parts of the state.

“We applied for this job, and you hired us four years ago,” he said. “As we promised during the campaign, I can assure you that the best is yet to come. Like the Americans would say, ‘You ain’t seen nothing yet.’ With this renewed trust and partnership with you, the next four years will prove that indeed, you ain’t seen nothing yet.”
