The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made on Saturday during a party stakeholders’ meeting held in Talata Mafara, Zamfara State.
According to reports, the declaration followed a unanimous voice vote from ward leaders representing the 14 local government areas of the state.
Leading the call for Tinubu’s endorsement, Senator Abdulaziz Yari (APC–Zamfara West) said the decision reflected the satisfaction of Zamfara citizens with the president’s leadership, particularly his efforts in addressing insecurity and economic challenges.
The motion for endorsement was moved by Senator Sahabi Ya’u (APC–Zamfara North) and seconded by Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu (APC–Bungudu/Maru).
Senator Yari praised President Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to combat banditry and kidnapping across the North-West region, especially in Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Katsina States.
He urged APC supporters in Zamfara to remain united and committed to ensuring the president’s re-election in 2027, stressing that party unity was essential for victory at the polls.
Yari also assured members that he and the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle, were working together to address the state’s challenges and strengthen the party’s position ahead of the elections.
