BREAKING: Amb. Ikebunwa Lotanna Picks ADC Membership Ticket, Declares Intention to Contest Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo Federal Constituency Seat

The Convener of the Good Governance Initiative (GGI), Ambassador Ikebunwa Lotanna, on Sunday officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), marking what he described as the commencement of a well-coordinated political movement aimed at repositioning leadership and safeguarding Nigeria’s political future ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Amb. Ikebunwa completed his registration at the ADC office in Nnewichi, Nnewi North Local Government Area, where he was warmly received by party executives, stakeholders, and community leaders.

Speaking shortly after receiving his membership card, Amb Ikebunwa declared his full commitment to the party, stating, “I am now a bona fide member of the African Democratic Congress. This is my political home, and this is the platform through which we will rescue Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency from years of incompetent and ineffective representation.”

Party officials, in their remarks, noted that Ikebunwa’s entry into the ADC would significantly strengthen the party’s growing coalition in the constituency. They described him as a young, vibrant, and strategic-minded leader whose participation would inject renewed energy and intellectual depth into the party’s grassroots mobilization efforts. They further disclosed that he is among the first prominent figures to register under the party’s new coalition arrangement in Anambra State.

Addressing party supporters and residents, Amb. Ikebunwa called on eligible voters across Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Ekwusigo, and the entire Anambra State to seize the opportunity to register with the ADC.

“I urge all indigenes and residents who are 18 years and above to come out en masse and register with the ADC,” he said. “By the grace of God, we will replicate what happened in 2015 when a coalition successfully displaced the incumbent. If it was achievable then, it is even more possible now with a better candidate, a clearer vision, and a stronger commitment to quality representation.”

He further assured constituents that the ADC-led coalition would offer Nigerians a credible and people-focused alternative in the next general elections.

“In 2027, our coalition will present to Nigerians what I describe as a credible alternative, one capable of restoring the lost glory of Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, and contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s overall progress,” he added.

As political activities continue to gain momentum, Amb. Ikebunwa Lotanna’s defection to the ADC is widely regarded as a major boost to the party’s fortunes in Anambra State. His entrance brings youthful vitality, strategic sagacity, and strong grassroots presence, factors expected to play a decisive role as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.
