INEC Uploads Over 800 Ekiti Governorship Election Results to IReV Portal

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the upload of polling unit results from the ongoing Ekiti State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV) following the conclusion of voting in several parts of the state.
As of 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, the commission had uploaded 846 results out of the expected 2,445 polling unit results, representing 34.6 per cent of the total results expected from across the state.
The development comes after voting, ballot sorting and vote counting were completed in many polling units, allowing election officials to begin transmitting results to the portal.
Data available on the IReV platform showed that several results from wards in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area had already been uploaded.
Iyin I Ward recorded the highest number of uploaded results, with nine out of its 23 polling unit results available on the portal. Similarly, Igbemo Ward had nine of its 21 polling unit results successfully uploaded.
The number of uploaded results is expected to increase significantly as the collation process continues across the state’s 16 local government areas.
Voting ended in many polling units before 3:00 p.m., after which electoral officials commenced the sorting and counting of ballots cast during the election.
Residents across Ekiti State turned out to participate in the governorship poll conducted by INEC, with electoral activities taking place in all local government areas of the state.
Meanwhile, collation of results is ongoing in several local government areas as election officials continue efforts to compile and finalize the outcome of the exercise.
