APC Appoints Uba Sani to Lead Ekiti Governorship Campaign Council

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, as Chairman of its Ekiti State Governorship Election Campaign Council, as the party intensifies preparations for the upcoming poll.
The appointment was conveyed in a letter dated April 24, 2026, and signed by the APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru. The party said the decision was based on Sani’s leadership experience and his contributions toward advancing its goals.
According to the letter addressed to the Kaduna State Government House, the APC expressed confidence in the governor’s ability to effectively coordinate campaign activities and mobilise support across Ekiti State.
As part of the campaign rollout, Governor Sani has also been invited to attend the party’s official flag-off rally scheduled for Monday, April 27, 2026, in Ado-Ekiti. The event is expected to attract key party stakeholders, members, and supporters, marking the formal commencement of campaign activities in the state.
The incumbent governor, Biodun Oyebanji, will be seeking a second term under the APC platform in the forthcoming election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed the Ekiti State governorship election for Saturday, June 20, 2026. The poll will be the first to be conducted under the leadership of INEC Chairman, Joash Amupitan.
